IAAC Public Comments
TC Energy’s Proposed Pumped Storage Project is under review by the Federal Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) and they want to hear from you before April 6th! Here’s a quick outline of why your comments matter and how to make the most out of them.
Why does IAAC want to hear from you?
- Your comments ensure that an Impact Assessment will actually take place
- They help the IAAC understand the surrounding community and their concerns
- They help the IAAC identify the most important impacts of the proposed project
- They influence decisions about the project like whether it should move forward or not
Not sure what to say? Here are some tips.
Your comment can be long or short, what matters is you have your say.
Structuring your comments as specific concerns and requests will resonate the most, here’s an example:
Ex. Studies have shown that the soils on the DND base are contaminated. I am concerned about the spreading of these contaminations during the construction phase of this project. The extensive digging and blasting of the reservoir could spread the contaminations into the Bay and the surrounding area through rain runoff and dust particles in the air. I request that you solve the energy shortfall without digging a big hole into contaminated soil.”
